A mission to the moon was going slowly, and there was a malfunction. They realized they did not have of fuel to finish the mission. So what else can we do with this? Turns out that it's put together in two big pieces. So they decided remotely to blow the two pieces apart and let the fuel and engine section dropped to the moon like a big weight and strike the surface. And when it did, it would create the huge ino ejection of mass from the surface in one big plume. That led us to believe that there might be a vent through the crust between those two oceans, and we should go look for that vent. We had narrowed down to about ten
