Disability theology is a kind of critical theory approach to theology. In more popular jargon, you might just call it identity politics applied to theology. You take an oppressed perspective and look at the theological doctrines that lead to their oppression. Then you use that oppressed perspective to criticize the theology that led to the oppression in the first place. It's also used to rearticulate a better understanding of theological doctrines.
