CHAPTER

The Toxic Belief

Too often, we actually think things which are not in our interests. One of the things that there's my particular bug there is working hard. You know, people think there's some virtue in working hard. But beyond a certain point, it becomes counterproductive. When I was working at the Boston Consolid Group 70 or 80 hours a week, I was failing. The longer I worked, the worse it got, and the worse the stress got. People who don't work hard make a much greater contribution despite having a charmed life. Once they've somehow come to a major insight, which can have huge consequences, and you don't need to work hard.
