I'm very optimistic politically that we will get paid leave. I am not optimistic at all that there will be any movement on childcare, because childcare is very expensive. There's still a lot of powerful, very conservative people who in their hearts believe that moms need to stay home. But what if your husband dies in war? OK? You did the right thing. And so why would we make the state responsible for any kind of childcare? That's punishing people that have extenuating circumstances. They want to punish those people.
