Apollo 15 opened the scientific phase of moon exploration. Scientists were fascinated with the moon because it's a time capsule. Almost any rock the astronauts stumbled over has not been altered since long before the appearance of man on earth. The apollo astronauts scoured the moon's surface, looking for clues to unlock the celestial time capsule.

In all our searching of the universe, we’ve never seen another moon like ours. It's big, it's weird, it's played a huge role in shaping our planet. But how did we get it? Every possible story points to cataclysm.
