I'm not sure if it could have been a financed and be made if it weren't for like David Lynch. I think the fact that Lou Velvet had existed and was ahead, then something like this could get financed because it's incredibly weird. When you think about it, they could have made the plot so that it was just a normal Viet Cong clash type situation. But they didn't do that. They made even the circumstances of the bloodbath be very weird and out there. That's the only thing that didn't sit well with me is that weird title card to sort of break away and let the audience know something about this drug experiment which I don't understand"
