Ramani Kajal wrote the book that is still used today. It's artistically interesting because what he would do is to look through his microscope all day, note photography there. He would sit down and draw what he saw,. And they're beautiful. But so why weren't they using cameras, by the way? Because I mean, photography certainly existed at that time. My guess is that it was easier for him to draw it.
