How the Nervous System of the Human Organism Interacts With the Microbiome

We always assumed that the brain and the prifl nerves were like this holy of holies at had to be multiple times separated from the outside world just to keep it safe. To find out that these nerves were intentionally reaching past the fty of the human organism to interact directly with these microbes makes me believe that we, in fact, developed with the soils of the planet. And so i think that at this point i see three different brains, the first probably being our got, the second being our skin, and the third one this gray matter in our head - as a central processing unit.
