How Do You Write a Manuscript?

Sally Kohn: I don't have a daily routine because it really depends on the stages of a project. Sometimes I'm in reading mode and I like to immerse myself in a new topic. And that means I spend weeks just reading and taking literature notes. But then you are sometimes in the middle of finishing in manuscript and I don't want to switch between multiple projects, but be really immersed in writing with the reader in mind. It's pretty much what Cal Newport is always stressing that we should be very aware of the costs of switching.
