The Longevity Effects of MTOR and Rapamisin
Rit is potentially a molecule that could make people live longer, at least if what it does in yeast, flies, worms and mammals is any indication. So why is it that the inhibition of emtor, or specificly mtor complex, can extend life? I don't know of any other pathway that does as many things. Bat mtor basically has a finger in every major process in the cell. To impact the state of a cell, to rejuvenate it, to slow the aging process, you can’t do one thing. You rit to do a hundred things.
