The Effects of Privately Owned Public Spaces on Public Life
I think one of the things about London which is changing as well is the fact that spaces that used to be public are now almost all private. Is that something that you see in other cities as well not just London or is it a London thing? I mean they're referred to as POPS, privately owned public spaces and yes they are subtle. But there is always this threat of censoring or of a kind of authoritarianism that lurks in the shadows. And so yeah I think ultimately it's as I said before pernicious and oppressive.
