Episode 224: Jan Zizka, the Undefeated Innovator
Half-Arsed History

Sigismund Zishka's Battle of Horace
Zishka was attached to a faction known as the Tabarites, a radical sect of the Hussites. At the Battle of Horace in 1423 he defeated the Utraquists who believed in conciliation between the Hussites and the Catholics. Zishka even rode to Hungary in an attempt to take the fight to Sigismund himself directly. But it became very clear that the Hungarians were a lot stronger with a home ground advantage. In 1424, civil war erupted once again between the Hussite factions. And this led to the Hussites putting aside their differences for one reason: they wanted to turn their attention outside of Bohemia to fight the Catholics.
