The Cost of Close Reading

The cost of close reading is a point that people miss. You can't just go by the value, you have to integrate them and go by value and cost. Even the most valuable sort of learning technique, if its cost is high enough, then it's useless to you. Just don't do anything. It's better to learn some stuff without notes than to learn less stuff or no stuff with notes.
