What Happens When the Sand Is Self Organized?

The sand grains self organize. No little elf that runs in and shapes the sand into a mould. Itself organizes into a mound like that. Now at some point it enters a critical phase. Criticality means the syt is close to right, is potentially breaking down. And so there are people that argue that civilizations collapse doe to what's called general systems failure. The antropic forces right areact ly overwhelming the structure of the system,. and the system just collapses.
