Is There a Consistent Idea of a Blog Post?
Schema.org is a repository where anything in the world can be categorized and schemified like your house can be represented in a schema from Schema.org. The idea was to expose consistent ideas of what a blog post is, but no one's writing their content the same way so we ended up with 100 different properties that are optional because none of them are required. Now every theme in our ecosystem implements that same consistent blog type. And now any post that you write, you can almost switch themes in and out without too much work.
