What I Learned From Your Family
Martin: My family is Jewish and those in their immediate family realized very well what this meant. But somewhere between 40 to 50, aunts, uncles and cousins of my parents were killed at least. So what I learned from their background is that civilization is very fragile. And echoes of irrationality, unreasoned hatred, forms of populism that have echoes frightens me. That's what led me to write this book about why has this happened? And what can we do about it?
