Do Cardiovascular Exercise for Weight Loss Really Work?

The key thing that we're trying to achieve as we age is a home of states is hanging on to every ounce of muscle that we've got. In the UK historically there's been an approach by general practitioners by medical professionals to assess people's body mass index and that's obviously a calculation of body mass and their height. But in older adults this is a really poor measure because if we look at somebody's body Mass Index and they come back overweight one of the things that we recommend is that they lose weight but they typically go away and lose muscle. People with a higher body mass index also have what's called a higher muscle mass index which means that they've got more muscle.
