While Clapton was in the Bluesbreakers, he gained a reputation for being the best guitarist in London. The Yardbirds had originally asked Jimmy Page if he wanted to join the group, but he decided that his talents were better used in the studio. Jeff Beck would often recommend his friend for sessions he couldn't make,. leading to Beck playing on records like Dracula's Daughter and Screaming Loads Such and the Savages.
