The Fall of Constantine and Mehamed

A lunar eclipse served as a bad omen to the city ans who were aware of a prophecy stating that the city would fall during such an event. Mehmed pushed on by commanding his janissaries, his alete warriors to breach the now weakly defended walls and enter the city. Genoese and venetians launched their ships that would have been overloaded with refugees attempting to flee the city once and for all. While constantine was faced with his own ultimate fate. There are no known witnesses. Some reports suggest that constantine threw away his royal regalia before sacrificially charging into the advancing ottoman ganisaries with no chance of survival.
