Our brains use about 20 % of our daily energy quota. And so we constantly ignore information from the outside world based on our prior experiences. This is linked to us having cognitive biases or attentional deficits, if you like. But there's a lovely little video here that helps us to understand how limited em that ability to change actually is. So let's have a look at this: A hollow mask with shadows going backwards and then another face popping forward. We basically see the world based on the prism of our experiences that have come before which can lead to some wrongful assumptions in the way that we view the world.
