The Decolonization of the Mind
The idea of europe itself is a very recent concept, that africa is not invented until the 19 century. My students sometimes are surprised to discover that racism was not always there. So decoronization is kind of calling attention to the invention of categories. The second part of it, which is what interests me as a literary scholar, i'm constantly engaged in a process of reading and re reading. That's my argument. What i am trying to do, and lis wher i have the skills of a literary Scholar, is to discover the things that are usually unspoken in texts.
