Banks Lending on the Par Value of Their Assets
Most of the deposits at the bank were uninsured. They were above the FDIC's $250,000 cap. The Fed is saying, if you just, you don't have to sell, you can just borrow on the par value. It's kind of a shenanigans, if you ask me. I think this is exactly what a macro-predential bank regulator should do.
