Bottom trawling of the ocean floor releases as much carbon dioxide as the entire aviation industry. marine sediments are the largest pool of carbon storage on the planet. A new study estimates that an average of a giga ton carbon dioxide is released annually. But it's not quite so dire, because what we need to think about is how to continue to be able to use the oceans in order to produce food.

A web of three optical atomic clocks show incredibly accurate measurements of time, and the trailblazing astronomer who found hints of dark matter.
