Dolly as a Journalist - Is She a Feminist?
Dolly herself is very detocevilian in that way. She identifies with every different segment of her audience, but never gives in to any of them. I think about that a lot as a journalist. We have to relentlessly and pathetically identify with all the different parts of our world, but we can't give into them on some level. So it would have felt like giving in to say, the civil war isn't open debate as to what cause it. No, slavery is what causes it. But i'm not going to over identify with one of the other sides and say, and the dixy lan stampede is wrong.
