The SBC Constitution: No Woman Can Be Employed on a Pastoral Staff

There was a proposal at last week's convention by one of the members to evolve it saying that no woman can be employed on a pastoral staff at a SBC church. If you read their current statement of belief, it says like the pastor has to be a man. And so now they're evolving that to say of any kind, pastor of any kind. It won't be enacted until next year's convention when it has to get voted on again, but with a two thirds majority.
