The Place We Find Ourselves

CHAPTER

Why Are You Being So Critical of Me the Other Day?

When you tell a wicked person how he or she has hurt you, they will minimize your wound and treat it as though it were not serious. They have no shame about how they wounded you. And they feel no shame, for their hearts are hardened. Let me share another example. A daughter says to her mother, mam, could we talk about some of the ways that i felt hurt by you when i was growing up? Mam, responds with, sure, honey, what horrible thing did i do now? The conversation goes nowhere, and it ends quickly. It's happened over and over so many times. This isn't real, but it's more than real.
