The Charge of the Light Brigade
The charge is a very special case. So everybody thinks it's a catastrophe and everybody got killed. That simply isn't true. The attack begins with the Russians capturing several outworks that are held by Turkish and Egyptian troops. And as they retreat uphill through a vineyard, they are attacked by the heavy brigade. As you would see at the Trooping of the Guard, those are Crimean War uniforms. There's big helmets and breastplates and thigh boots. They didn't charge the enemy because they were going uphill through a Vineyard. They just cantered into them and smashed them out of the way,. Because the Russians were a light cavalry on very small horses.
