The Story of Zina Smith and Henry B Jacobs

Zina was baptized by Hiram Smith on August 1st 1835. Her family became quite close with the Smith family and after receiving some advice from Joseph Smith, senior Zina's father sold their property and relocated to church headquarters in Kirtland, Ohio. 19 months later they moved again to far west Missouri. And then during an 1839 cholera epidemic in Nauvoo, Zina and her mom get really sick. Sometime during the courtship it said that Joseph Smith explained to Zina the principal of plural marriage and asked her to become one of his wives. Zina actually declined Joseph's proposal and she chose to marry Henry and she and her fellow musician were married
