The Importance of Belonging to God

There is definitely an element of belonging that informs our moral systems, but the deepest kind of belonging is belonging to God. Christian faith is unique in that although it does draw lines, it also has a particular posture towards people on the other side of the line. And so I think that one of the places where moral systems allegedly apart from God often fail is that there is no space in them for what happens when you fail.
