I usually don't recommend taking a 401k loan unless you absolutely, absolutely, absolutely have to. And then in that scenario, just understand the variables and get all the information. But as Dominique said, there's another side that a plan or a calculator does not deal with. The emotions behind this purchase. It doesn't matter what the math looks like because the math has an absolutely zero feeling behind it.
