Is China Critical to the Neoliberal Economy?
On the right side, I think there's something a little too FDR-y about this industrial based discourse. The Chinese have not just like they don't much make toy cars and whatever they are ascending the value chain through massive industrial policy. So my view is that we cannot do state intervention economy and have a massive Jupiter sized economy also doing industrial policy and succeed. We can't be fighting with both hands tied behind our back. And it's also connected to obviously Wall Street, Hollywood, etc. That benefit from this trimerica kind of model.
