The Disadvantages of the Sub Orders of Altar Boys
After the Vatican II, some sub orders were suppressed. The formal sub order of acolyte became a ministry that lay people were permitted to do on a regular basis. In Paris churches, it was common for boys to do this but then it was open to girls. It makes it unfair and difficult to explain to a girl who is at the altar and serving,.
