Keating also said the French government offered the Australian government a new deal on submarines, new French nuclear submarines, 5% enriched uranium, delivery 2034 fixed price and got no response. Keating: The best sovereign outcome here is the one we're getting. It's the best outcome precisely because there's a sealed nuclear reactor and that forms part of the technology. That means we are not having to send submarines back to be refueled, which means we have control of them.
