Are We Just Influenced by What's in Vogue?

There's a big argument about whether our aesthetic opinions of what is good in bad art are based on objectively provable claims. We've done research that's tried to answer that question empirically. When you show them a pair of images, one by a famous artist and one by a child or an animal, unlabelled, they are significantly above chance in choosing the better image. So people are wrong when they say, my kid could have done that. And they actually know more about abstract art than they think they do.
