Creation of a Remarkable Water Clock

This chapter discusses the creation of a remarkable water clock by a Chinese polymath named Su Song during the late 11th century. The water clock demonstrated the phases of the moon and the positions of the stars, but was eventually abandoned after the invasion of the Jin dynasty.
