How to Make a Peace in a Cold War
Most revolutionary wars are not started by foreign powers looking to invade or capture the revolution, says Julian Zelizer. Sometimes it's less about calculation of interests, wealth, and power, but instead comes down to mood and temper of those with the power to make warm peace. In Russia, you can see how much the Allied occupation to the periphery of the Empire was far more about advancing each country's political and economic interests in post-revolutionary Russia. It took support from a different neighboring power, the Free Republic of Haiti, that got him back on track.
