i looked at the manner in the mesopotamians built their saviour, marduk. And there's this sense emerging in mesopotamia that the high order being is extraordinarily attentive. You see the same thing emerging in greece with the building of a pantheon of gods. Then you see that revolution take place with the dawn of christianity. It certainly seems to me that christianity has at least been a very long conver ation about what the nature of the good is. That spilled out into the humanities and and underlies our culture. i don't understand how it is that we can be said not believe it. I think relative to our spiritual, cultural
