Maternity leave in China is 98 days, which is a little bit over three months. In many cultures, women are still the main person who's taking care of children. A major obstacle of giving birth is after the child is born, who will take care of the baby? The child can only go to kindergarten after turning three. There's a big gap when the child is aged between six months and three.
