The Kegan Stages Are Not Descriptively Wrong
Not everything is related to best in terms of stage models of adult developmentno. I've had some interesting conversations with a friend and colleague recently, where he's fered the perspective that kegan stages are actually not descriptively wrong but missing a key element. The fact that we have to go through them, according to him, is caused by the inherently tramatizing nature of our society. And i sort of wonder how much that applies to other stage models, like spiral dynamics, you know, et cetera.
