Is Technology a Good Thing?

Every bit of freedom that the human race has ever achieved ha been the direct result of some form of technology making it possible for us to communicate better. I don't have children yet, but with the way i see family members children being raised with technology integrated so deeply, its just, you know, maybe we're only reacting this way because it's new, and it'll end up, overtime, being a good thing.
