Using Sound Waves to Create a Silent Sound
When sound waves meet, can have all kinds of interactions. If we bring these tones together into the middle, they combine into a single sound that's twice as loud. And this makes the sound louderbut we can also do the opposite and make a quieter sound by making one sound wave out a phase with the other one.
