The Future of the Semiconductor Industry
Most of our electronic products, what you see on my table here, the laptop, the phones, all that is assembled in China. For that, China needs to import chips. That's probably one of the largest expenses China has to feed its industry. And so China wants to become autonomous in making these chips, so they're setting up factories. The current political debate is how much can the West and Western allied countries deliver the machinery, the equipment that is needed to make the chips. You now see the big conflicts between the US and China.
