In 1508 two men, Alonso de Ojeda and Diego de Nucusa, were awarded charters to explore the lands of Tiera Fermé. For this the Spanish crown established two provinces in the region. The demarcation point between these two provinces was the Gulf of Urava on the northern coast of Columbia. It's right where Panaman Columbia connect, and I recommend taking a look on a map to see it.
