The Uncomfortable Image of Merlin
There's all kinds of like little hints toward Barfield in this book. But I think Merlin is the biggest one because notice that both sides are wanting Merlin, right? Yeah. It's he saves with the letter. It's what the letter hangs around. Right. And so the fact that he, I mean, being a medieval scholar, Renaissance expert, he didn't just select this out of nowhere. This is this is deeply rooted in his lectures and the discarded image, the world that that he sort of inhabited.
