The History of the Maccabean Rebellion

The Maccabean rebellion was in part a struggle between two types of Jews, Hellenizers and traditionalists. You might not even be able to tell that they were Jews just by looking at them. The term Jew in English comes ultimately from the Greek word Yudios. And this word first appears in the second book of Maccabees.
