Idi Amin took control of South Asian-owned businesses in Uganda. He distributed them among his inner circle as a form of patronage. The dictator then realized that these advisors were incompetent, inefficient and didn't know anything about running the economy. It's thought this spelt the end of Idi Amin's tenure as ruler of Uganda. Next time on Real Dictators, we'll delve into Amin's private life.
