Every single major revolutionary leader had, at one point or another, been a member. It's where barnouve and duport and lamette and the foula come from. And it had been neckdeep accomplices in all the paris insurrections. But through it all, its guiding light and beating heart was maximilian robespierre. The club which he had dedicated his life was not able to survive his death. Now this is not the end of jacobinism. As we will see, many of the former members of the jacobin club will continue to consort with each other but they are now officially homeless.
