There was probably a certain amount of resentment bout the fact that e britons were coming in and digging up the nation's treasures. But i doubt if it was high on their list of priorities because their political priorities were more important at the time than their cultural priorities. And some of the material that was dug up by western archaeologists did end up in the museums in cairo. So it wasn't all were exported to europe as ey were, but no, it would have been a cause of resentment.
