The Importance of Feedback in the Women's Movement
There was a huge debate that was going on in the women's movement over reform versus revolution. And it was felt very much by the women's liberation movement that power corrupts and if you went into the halls of power, you would be automatically compromised. I used to get out in the morning and look at myself and mirroring shit, am I being corrupted yet? Did you come to an answer in that question? Well, I didn't know. You could feel that you were pure and uncorrupted and continuing around. But unless you had a lot of feedback, it was quite difficult to tell whether you were compromised or not by power itself.
