Introduction

As a new parent, I've found that children can make us feel this. Nora is one year old, and I am soaking up every minute that I can grab with her. Affliction cuts our aspirations down to size. And then it teaches us what we really value by taking those things away. In our suffering, we cling to what we love most, or mourn that thing that's just lost.
